Ask Huawei Matebook D14 2021 RAM upgrade?

Hello,

I'm looking for help upgrading the soldered on RAM from 8 to 16GB, there is a 16GB version available of this laptop, I assume the BIOS knows this? Its just resistor straps? Does anyone that works with Huawei stuff can help?

The website says that the D14 16GB version uses DDR4, as opposed to LPDDR4X like the 8GB model. Any info?

Any information on this? Thank you.

Another question I have is if there is a way through software to figure out what RAM chips they are?

All I have rn is 4 chips of 3733Mhz RAM.

The hardware report made by Aida64Extreme is attached to the thread with all the hardware info it can extract. Can you find anything out through it?

Okay so upon further research, the 16GB model of the D14 seems to come with 2x8GB sticks of ram, as opposed to the 8GB D14 that has 4 channels, 4x2GB.

Aida64Extreme does state that the laptop should be able to support more RAM, and AFAIK, there are other brand/model laptops with the same by 4 RAM chip config with 16GB of RAM.

Question is, will mine support it? I would be able to find out by decrypting the BIOS file, but I have no idea how to do that or how to extract it in the first place.

Any clues on this? Thank you.
