There are 2 chips as you can see from the attached photos. I clamp the chip, try to read the chip and it tells me there is a short circuit. Do the chips need to be unsoldered from the motherboard? I tried soldered chips.
Beyond this I also tried to power the fan with the 5Vs of the motherboard...
